Samsung has announced a partnership with Nifty Gateway, a cryptocurrency exchange operated by Gemini, to create the world’s first smart TV NFT platform. Users will be able to browse and purchase non-fungible tokens on their Samsung TVs using this platform. Users will be able to buy, sell, and hold NFTs using their Samsung TV.
On Samsung’s 2022 QLED and Neo QLED premium TVs, the NFT platform will be integrated with the Nifty Gateway. On Samsung’s The Frame and MicroLED TVs, the company will also provide a standalone app for NFT trading.
Users will be able to explore, display, and interact with NFTs on their Samsung TVs thanks to a cooperation between Samsung and Nifty Gateway. Users will be able to access nearly 6,000 pieces of digital art and collectibles from artists such as Daniel Arsham, Pak, and others through the platform.
To assure quality material for its customers, NIfty Gateway checks any digital art that is minted through it. If users want, they can store their NFTs in a safe Nifty Gateway Omnibus Wallet. Customers will also have more options when it comes to paying for their products. NFTs can be purchased with debit or credit cards, as well as cryptocurrencies.
During the event, Duncan Cock Foster, co-founder of Nifty Gateway, revealed more facts regarding the partnership with Samsung. Nifty Gateway, he said, intends to provide NFTs to “a billion people.” “We are committed to making NFTs more accessible and NFT purchasing more smooth than ever before,” he continued.
Samsung has already partnered with this social NFT platform on another project. Samsung Next, the company’s venture capital arm, is a shareholder in Nifty. Samsung will unveil more about its cooperation with Nifty Gateway at its next event.
